Why Nissan Navara YD25 D40 when replacing timing chain they didn't need to remove sump cover

The reason why Nissan Navara YD25 D40 when replacing timing chain we did not remove the sump unlike in YD25 D22 they need to remove the oil sump because the way of front oil cover mounting, D40 had a flash oil between sump and oil pump see below the photo.

As you can see in this photo shows the oil pump pick up protruding into the sump. This is why the D22 sump must be removed first.
